Great Wheelbarrow Race 2026 - GTB

I'm fundraising for Guide Dogs Queensland

This year, GTB Engineering staff & other dedicated members of the community have made the decision to partake in the Mareeba & Dimbulah Community Bank Great Wheelbarrow Race again. The race is scheduled to take place from the 8^th to the 10^th of May 2026.

Our inspiration for joining the Great Wheelbarrow Race stems from our daughter and granddaughter, Lucy. Lucy was born with a rare genetic condition known as Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). LCA leads to early onset childhood blindness affecting only 1 in 50,000 births. Lucy lights up the lives of everyone she encounters with her infectious joy and spirit.

It is our collective goal to raise awareness about living with blindness or low vision and to raise funds for an organisation that has been a major source of support for Lucy and her family.

We humbly appeal to you for your generous donation towards our fundraising efforts for Guide Dogs Queensland.
