In loving memory of Richard Andrew Anderson OAM

Richard Andrew Anderson OAM was a remarkable leader and lifelong champion of Guide Dogs Queensland, and his dedication helped shape the organisation we know today. Joining the Board in 1980 and serving as President from 1990 to 2025, Richard devoted more than four decades to improving the lives of Queenslanders with low vision or blindness. 

Richard’s legacy is one of compassion, leadership and enduring community impact. Passionate about the life‑changing difference Guide Dogs provide, he inspired generations of supporters, volunteers and donors to contribute to a shared mission of inclusion and independence. In honouring Richard’s life and extraordinary contribution, donations made in his memory will continue his legacy of supporting people with low vision and blindness for years to come.
